Changing of the Guard
Early this morning, the Ehven House was the site of a Changing of the Guard ceremony. In this quiet and dignified exchange, the old guard (represented below by Schneur Zalman Ehven, Yisroel Shem Tov Ehven, and Sheina Shira Ehven) handed over the keys to The House to the new guard (“Andrew the Marine”, also pictured below).
Other members of the Ehven Clan were also on hand, but were too choked up to appear in person. Actually, Tatty was photographing, Mommy was waking up, and Chaya Mushka was trying desparately to go back to sleep… Hopefully, it’s the thought that counts…
In an exclusive interview, the Ehven House confessed relief that the handover went as smoothly as it did. “Some ruckus was indeed expected, but that may just be because ruckus has been the status quo around here for a full decade”, The House explained.
“It is a great relief to house a ‘Band of Brothers’ for a while, especially after having housed the ‘Band of Bandits’, I’ll tell you”, added The House, “even if the band only has one brother!”
Now that the ‘Band of Bandits’ is en route to the Big Apple, the new administration has promised changes that have already heartened The House: Less noise, less mess. Of course, Andrew the Marine will only be on site for 12 days, and there is a limit to much The House can recover in that time.
And, of course, the ‘Band of Brothers’ will be leaving as soon as the ‘Band of Bandits’ returns…
