Ehven Mikvah Hop 5769: Mikva Yisroel
The mikvah on 749 Eastern Parkway is the closest to our vacation rental, so it’s the one we’ve been visiting most often.
The water is warm and reasonably clean, addmission is only $1 per user per visit, and the facility is comfortable even when crowded.

We had the great honor of having private time in our Rebbe’s office. It was more inspiring than I had anticipated.
Yechidus?
Every Chossid yearns for Yechidus (a private, one-on-one meeting) with his Rebbe.
For now, a “private audience” with our Rebbe’s office will have to do.

Sheina Shira Eats a Face
The Ehven Family practice of “face eating” was successfully passed to the next generation this morning, albeit with a slight twist.
Instead of Tatty eating kinderfaces, as has been the custom, Sheina Shira gleefully attacked an appropriately decorated pastry from one of the bakeries in Crown Heights.
Home, Sweet Home
OK, so it’s only home for a couple of weeks. Still, after a day in Manhattan, Crown Heights (Brooklyn) seems like the comfortable country home we so often fantasize about.

Survived the Subway
I was once an avid subway rider in Tokyo. I loved the precision and reliability of the whole Japanese railway system.
But ever since we started planning this NY trip, I’ve been gripped with fear about maneuvering through a busy subway with four children, my parents, and “Wrong-Way-Gilad”.
Will they be able to get on and off fast enough?
Will we get separated?
Will they annoy other passengers to the point of violence?
