New Jersey Excursion
At risk to life and limb, the Ehven family rented a van and ventured out on the road.
First stop: Brighton Beach to pick up Aunt Gloria. (Thank G-d for GPS.)
Next stop: Tinton Falls, NJ! What a beautiful drive over the Verrazano Bridge and Staton Island! The entire route was lushly green and expansive.

Sheina Shira in Grandpa’s Space
One of my strongest memories of my paternal grandfather, may his memory be a blessing, was the life he made for himself on the Brighton Beach Boardwalk. He never had the chance to meet our kinderlach, but if he had, I’m certain much of their relationship would have played out on the boardwalk. Guess where Gilad is!
That’s right! Kingston Pizza!! It would have been nice if someone would have told us that there are actually TWO Kingston Pizzas: one kosher, and one not! Of course, only the non-kosher one was listed in the Yellow Pages. But when we walked in and noticed all the meaty pizzas on display, and the staff noticed us, they kindly directed us down the street to this happy place. I just looked at them and said, “We’re new in town.”
The Ehvens (and the Mosslers) Have Landed!
Flight good. Weather good. Shuttle good (we hope – we’re still waiting). Falafel gooood! If we can find some where we’re going…
